Welcome to One Glass Act.
One Glass Act offers a unique range of bespoke mirrors, leaded windows and artworks which are handmade and individually designed in a range of different styles - contemporary, abstract, retro and Art Deco.
How to buy
You can buy ready-made items by contacting me on anne.povey@btopenworld.com. or you can have something made especially for you. I will also be exhibiting at several arts and crafts fares throughout 2008, Saturday 28th/Sunday 29th June at BASC Country Fair, Bodelwyddan Castle, St Asaph (Wales), Saturday 4th/5th/6th July at Scone Palace, Perthshire, Scotland, Monday 11th-Sunday 24th August at the West End Craft & Design Fair, Edinburgh (runs concurrently with Edinburgh Festival) Friday 21st/22nd/23rd November at the Arts and Crafts Gift Show, Exhibition Centre, Bournemouth - more to follow once they have been confirmed by the organisers.
About the design process
I don’t use any of the standard published patterns, or traditional designs - you won't find any Prince of Wales feathers or dragons in my collection! Just unique, contemporary and abstract designs using beautiful, carefully sourced glass. No two mirror or window designs are the same so you won’t find a duplicate in anyone else's home.
The mirrors you see here are made using the copper foil method, but we are happy to make leaded mirrors on request. You can see examples of leaded window commissions on the Windows page.
About the Glass
The mirrors are made with a variety of types of glass; Spectrum is the most commonly used - machine rolled both sides ensuring a constantly smooth surface. Kokomo glass is vibrant with intense colours, a beautiful glass made from the oldest American glass manufacturer. I like to mix them in with a variety of iridescent glasses that change colour and reflect in different lights. 
Art glasses like Uroboros and Youghiogheny are manufactured differently - the glass is hand-ladled and hand mixed. (You may have seen it in Tiffany lampwork.) Every sheet from each batch is slightly different. You can see samples in the art deco section.
All items available at the above listed craft fairs and exhibitions, or can be posted. Prices for stock items are listed, costs for commissions to be discussed.

Delivery costs will vary, depending on size and weight of the item.
